ADS-B Receiver

A Raspberry Pi running PiAware/dump1090-fa, tracking aircraft overhead via ADS-B.

ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) is how most aircraft report their own position, altitude, and speed — broadcast openly over radio a few times a second, originally built for air traffic control. A cheap USB radio and antenna is enough to receive it, which is what's feeding everything below.

A random pick from here (or from /birds) also goes out daily as "It's a bird! It's a plane!" on Bluesky and X.
